Students address the theme of interconnectedness through exploration of local environments and the relationship with larger/global environments by completing projects that exhibit an understanding of their own reciprocal relationship with their surroundings. Students research and synthesize factual information and present it in an interactive format
Example:
Video Documentary Filmmaking
By following the chain of a single product across the globe, students will gain an awareness of the power and responsibility inherent within each consumer choice they make, and their ability to affect change through their choices. Through the study of consumer culture and video works, students will create a documentary on the ethics and economy of a common sweatshop product sold in New York City.
